Coronavirus Update

Our Office’s Safety Precautions

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice.  We follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the State of NJ Dental Board.  Our strict processes have constantly made the care you receive at Dentistry for Kids both safe and comfortable.  We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

When it is time for your next appointment, you will see some notable changes, on top of our already strict infection control protocols.  For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment and ask that you fill out all paperwork online via our Patient Portal, including a COVID-19 questionnaire.  You will be asked those same questions again the day of your child’s visit.

  • Only patients with appointments and one guardian will be permitted in the office.

  • Anyone entering the office will have their temperature taken and if over the age of 3 must wear a facemask.

  • You will notice that our reception area has fewer seats and sneeze guards to protect our front desk staff and we will no longer offer magazines, toys, or video games.

  • When you arrive at the office, you will be asked to text from your car to let us know you have arrived and someone will call you to let you know when it is time to come up. If your child is older and you are comfortable waiting in the car during their visit, Dr. Amy or Dr. Lisa would be happy to call you immediately afterwards to discuss your child’s treatment and any findings.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for greater social distancing between patients. Longer appointment times will also allow for enhanced cleaning and disinfection between patients.

  • Doctors and clinical staff will be in full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as recommended by the CDC, OSHA, ADA, and State of NJ. All staff members will have their temperature taken daily upon entering the office.

  • If any patient or accompanying parent has a temperature of over 100.4 degrees, is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, or has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we will kindly ask you to reschedule your appointment.  We ask that you please postpone coming in if anyone in your household has been sick in the last 2 weeks.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions that you may have about the steps we will be taking to keep your child, and every patient, safe in our practice.  We appreciate your patience as we get back to this new normal.  We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you all back in the safest way possible!
