Meet Dr. Amy Waxman
Dr. Amy Waxman, DMD
Dr. Amy Waxman is the owner and pediatric dentist at Dentistry for Kids. Known for her calm approach and warm bedside manner, she strives to make every visit a positive one—especially for children who may feel anxious about the dentist.
Her mission is to help kids feel safe, confident, and proud of their smiles, while building lasting relationships with families based on trust, communication, and consistent care.
Dr. Amy’s journey in pediatric dentistry began at Emory University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Before dental school, she worked at the Children’s Dental Health Project, a nonprofit in Washington, D.C. focused on improving access to oral healthcare for children across the country.
She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. She then completed a two-year pediatric residency at NYU College of Dentistry and Bellevue Hospital, where she received advanced training in behavior management, special needs care, pediatric sedation, and child development.
While in residency, she also participated in two dental outreach trips to Nicaragua, where she provided care to underserved children in rural communities.
Before taking ownership of Dentistry for Kids, Dr. Amy worked at a pediatric dental practice in Long Island, NY, where she treated children of all ages and abilities. She brings this deep experience, along with a passion for prevention and patient education, to every child she sees.

- Basic Life Support (CPR)
- NERB Clinical Licensure Exam
She is a proud member of:

Dr. Amy lives locally with her husband, 2 daughters, and their puggle. When she's not at the office she enjoys playing tennis, trying new restaurants, watching reality tv, and traveling with her family.
